How it goes

Unbox and inventory

Parts are laid out and counted against the sheet so a missing bolt is found at minute five, not minute fifty.

Build square

Frames are assembled on a flat surface and squared before final tightening.

Tighten and anchor

All fasteners are torqued, drawers and doors are adjusted, and tall pieces are anchored to the wall.

Clean up

Packaging is broken down and left for recycling, or hauled if you prefer.

Furniture Assembly in Bay Area homes

Move-in day along the whole corridor generates a lot of assembly — apartment blocks near Caltrain in San Mateo, Redwood City, and Mountain View, and San Francisco flats where the furniture had to come up a narrow stair in boxes.

Anti-tip anchoring for dressers and bookcases is included on request and strongly recommended in homes with kids. Plaster and Eichler walls need different anchors than drywall, and that's handled.

Furniture Assembly: questions people ask

How much does furniture assembly cost?

Billed by the hour. A bed frame is about an hour, a dresser one and a half to two, a small desk under an hour.

Do you assemble furniture from any store?

Yes — Wayfair, Amazon, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Target, Costco, and anything else. IKEA has its own task-based pricing.

Can you anchor furniture to the wall?

Yes. Anti-tip straps for dressers, bookcases, and TVs are installed with anchors suited to the wall type.

What if parts are missing?

Parts are inventoried first. If something is missing, you'll know what to request from the retailer and the visit is rescheduled at no extra charge.

Do you take the boxes?

Packaging is broken down and left for your recycling. Hauling away is available on request.
